  • Allegro Choral Academy (grades 2-9)

    Experience musical excellence in an environment that nurtures creativity, teamwork and the love of singing. Learn the art of reading music, develop your vocals, ear training, musicianship and ensemble skills. Perform for friends and family on the last day of class. Continuous registration (Sept-May) is encouraged, however, students may join mid-year. Vivace (grades 2-3) Explore your voice, develop your ear, building music literacy and prepare yourself for the rigors of successful choral membership. Vivace uses the principles of Orff-Kodaly music education. This non-auditioned choir class is positive, fun and structured. Instructor: April Rios Thursdays, EVHS, 6:20-7:20 p.m. Prima Voce (grades 4-6) Build upon your musical interests and skills. Basic training and musicianship is combined with a positive and creative environment. Instructor: Kari Douma Thursdays, EVHS, 6:20-7:45 p.m. Bel Canto (grades 6-9) Focus on the development of a free and natural vocal production, while honing your musicianship, expressivity and ear training abilities. Basic music theory and sight-reading development are integrated into curriculum. Bel Canto is a treble choir open to students in grades 7-9 and advanced 6th graders. Thursdays, EVHS, 6:20-8:00 p.m.

    If your child loves to sing, Da Capo provides an opportunity for them to share their passion for music with others! The District 196 Music Department, in partnership with District 196 Community Education, is excited to offer a musical learning opportunity for your child. Da Capo is a non-auditioned choir that focuses on vocal technique, music reading and artistic expression in a fun and educational setting. A free Da Capo concert will be held on Thursday, May 7 at 6:30 p.m. in the Greenleaf Gym. Everyone is welcome! Fee includes t-shirt. Da Capo is a non-auditioned choir that focuses on vocal technique, music reading and artistic expression in a fun and educational setting and provides singers an opportunity to perform as an ensemble.

    Group Guitar Lessons (ages 9-15)

    Learn how to read music, TABs (musical notations indicating where to put fingers on guitar), and discover the chords and scales it takes to become a guitar player. Bring your own guitar, music will be provided.
  • Middle School Honors Band (grades 7-8, invite only)

    Middle School Honor Band is a one-day band festival for select students across District 196 middle schools to showcase their musical talents. Students practice with other honor band members throughout the day and perform for friends and family that evening. Students are nominated and selected by their home school band director. The festival will take place on Friday, March 7 from 8:00-4:00pm at Eastview HS. Students will be released at 4:00 P.M. go home, change and eat supper and are requested to return for call time at 6:45 P.M. Concert time will be at 7:30pm. Students should wear a white shirt and black pants.
  • Music Together (adult and child birth-5 yrs)

    Discover the joy of making Music Together! Sing, laugh, move and learn along with your baby, toddler or preschooler for 45 minutes of pure fun each week in these award-winning classes. We bring families together in a warm, supportive environment with the goal of having everyone feel comfortable singing, dancing and jamming. Because young children learn best from the powerful role models in their lives, our engaging classes show parents and caregivers how to help their children become confident, lifelong music-makers just by having fun making music themselves. Classes are mixed-age so the siblings can be together. Infants under eight months on the first day of the fall session attend free with a paid sibling.   • Symphony Orchestra (grades 8-12)

    String and band students attend weekly rehearsals, which include high quality curriculum and music. Our fast-paced rehearsals cover a wide variety of classical music, plus music from movies and Broadway musicals. Rotating sectional rehearsals are 6:00-6:30 p.m. and will help you to hone your musical skills in preparation for tri-annual concerts.
  • Ukulele Club-Cedar Park (grades 4 and 5)

    Join Cedar Ukes, a before-school ukulele club at Cedar Park for 4th and 5th graders. Learn beginner ukulele skills and the basics of songwriting while creating music together. The club concludes with a recorded performance shared with families through a private YouTube link. Ukuleles are provided—no home instrument required. Cedar Ukes offers a personalized, creative music experience beyond the classroom.
