Become certified in American Red Cross Lifeguarding for pools and waterparks, First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Lifeguard. Attendance at all class sessions is mandatory. Age Prerequisite: 15 years of age by the last day of the class Skill Prerequisites: Continuous endurance swim: front crawl and/or breaststroke for 300 yd. Timed skill sequence: 20 yd. swim, retrieval of a 10 lb. object from 7 ro 10 ft. deep, swim 20 yd. carrying the object and exit the water within 1 min 40 sec Tread water: 2 min using legs only A Waterfront Lifeguarding Module will be offered for those that successfully complete this course and would like to earn the additional certification to work at a beach.
