Become certified in American Red Cross Lifeguarding for pools and waterparks, First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Lifeguard. Blended Learning combines online learning with on-site skill sessions for skill practice and assessment. Online completion is required prior to the first day of the course. Attendance at all class sessions is mandatory. When you register, you will not be charged upon completion of your registration. Instead, the system will collect your payment information and charge you one day before the class begins (just in case a cancellation would be necessary). Age Prerequisite: 15 years of age by the last day of the class Skill Prerequisites: Prerequisite skills will be evaluated at the beginning of the first day. Those who do not meet the skill requirements will not be allowed to stay for the class and may choose to practice the swimming skills to be able to transfer to another class or cancel with a $25 cancellation fee. 300 yd. endurance swim using front crawl and breaststroke continuously Complete a timed skill sequence including a 20 yd. swim, retrieval of a 10 lb. object from 7 ft. deep, swim 20 yd. carrying the object and exit the water within 1 min. and 40 sec. Tread water for 2 min. using legs only A Waterfront Lifeguarding Module will be offered for those that successfully complete this course and would like to earn the additional certification to work at a beach.
