The goal of Youth Enrichment is to provide opportunities for youth to pursue their interests, expand their abilities and improve their social skills in an informal, fun and safe environment.
Cahoots
Play fun, challenging and musically diverse pieces. Suited for those with at least one year of string playing experience. Focus on foundational skills and ensemble playing in weekly, fast-paced rehearsals (5:00-5:55 p.m.). Explore a diverse range of music, including classical works, Broadway hits and movie themes. Rotating sectionals from 5:55-6:15 p.m. will help you sharpen your technique and prepare for three quarterly concerts.
Emily Pantel graduated in 2007 from the University of Northwestern, St. Paul with a degree in K-12 music education with an orchestral emphasis. She enjoys playing the violin in the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra and teaching beginning levels of viola, cello, and bass. Originally from the Twin Cities, Emily has lived in both Switzerland and Germany, gaining diverse life and teaching experiences. She is thrilled that the district supports the South of the River Orchestra program and is excited to be conducting the fantastic students in the Philharmonic orchestra.
