District 196 Childcare (grades K-5)
Emergency childcare services for District 196 children in grades K-5 will be offered from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. for those families whose parents are essential workers as denoted by the state of Minnesota. Bussing will be provided as needed before and after the 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. day. Care offered between 9:00 a.m and 3:00 p.m., along with bussing, will be offered at no cost.
Parents, please provide an employment ID badge, photocopy or picture on phone. Upon arrival, student temperature will be taken and children with a fever will be denied access. Parents of children riding the bus must check their child's temperature before they get on the bus. Children who may fall ill during the day will be quarantined and must be picked up immediately. Students in grades four and five should bring their iPads so they can complete their e-learning activities on site. Students in kindergarten-grades three will spend part of the day in the computer lab with access to e-learning activities. Lunch will be provided. A nurse will be on site each day. For students in need of daily medication, regular district guidelines will apply.
For those with a need for extended day care, the YCMA will be providing before 6:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m.) and after care (3:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.). You will need to register with the YMCA directly for this service. A link to this YMCA registration page will be forwarded by Wednesday, March 25.
