Lifeguarding Instructor (ages 17+) - Spring Session
Become certified to teach American Red Cross Lifeguarding. Attendance at all class sessions is mandatory. Age Prerequisite: Students must be 17 years old by the last day of the class Certification Prerequisite: Current Lifeguard certification Skill Prerequisites: Successful completion of Lifeguarding swimming prerequisites Demonstration of competency with Lifeguarding skills Demonstration of competency when responding to scenarios involving rescues and emergency care -
Lifeguarding plus Waterpark Module (ages 15+) - Spring Session
Become certified in American Red Cross Lifeguarding for pools and waterparks, First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Lifeguard. Attendance at all class sessions is mandatory. Age Prerequisite: 15 years of age by the last day of the class Skill Prerequisites: Continuous endurance swim: front crawl and/or breaststroke for 300 yd. Timed skill sequence: 20 yd. swim, retrieval of a 10 lb. object from 7 ro 10 ft. deep, swim 20 yd. carrying the object and exit the water within 1 min 40 sec Tread water: 2 min using legs only A Waterfront Lifeguarding Module will be offered for those that successfully complete this course and would like to earn the additional certification to work at a beach. Water Safety Aide (ages 13+) - Spring Session
Do you seek employment as a swim instructor aide? This class is for you! CPR and First Aid training are included. Students that complete this course will be qualified to apply for employment at the age of 14. -
Water Safety Instructor Blended Learning (ages 16+) - Spring Session
Become certified to teach American Red Cross swim lessons. Blended Learning combines online learning with on-site skill sessions for skill practice and assessment. Online completion is required prior to the first day of the course. Attendance at all class sessions is mandatory. Age Prerequisite: Students must be 16 years of age by the last day of the class Skill Prerequisites: Demonstration of swimming skills equivalent to Red Cross Level 4 swim lesson requirements -
CPR/AED for the Lay Rescuer - Adult, Child and Infant - Spring Session
Be prepared with lifesaving skills! American Safety and Health Institute CPR/AED certification is valid for two years. This course is equivalent to American Heart Association Heart Saver or American Red Cross CPR for Lay Rescuer. -
First Aid - Spring Session
Be prepared with lifesaving skills! American Safety and Health Institute certification is valid for two years. This course is equivalent to American Red Cross First Aid. -
Lifeguarding Instructor Review - Summer Session
Renew your American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor certification. Abbreviated format for Lifeguarding Renewal (Code: QLGILGR), Waterpark Skills Module (Code: QLGIWP for new certification, QLGIWPR for renewal) and Waterfront Skills Module (Code: QLGIWF for new certification, QLGIWFR for renewal) will be offered after completion of this course.
