The goal of Youth Enrichment is to provide opportunities for youth to pursue their interests, expand their abilities and improve their social skills in an informal, fun and safe environment.
Cahoots
Learn how Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) weld to make a sculpture for your home garden. Cut, bend and shape steel straps around a stone. Weld the steel to encase the stone and mount it on a steel rod with more welding. Discuss safety and art design for sculpture. Using argon gas, bond metal to metal without the use of rods, sticks or wire feeds. Wear long sleeve cotton shirt, jeans or heavy duty work pants and closed toe leather shoes or boots. Bring leather work gloves, a stone about the size of your fist and creativity.
After retiring from State Service, Greg completed the Vesper School of Sculpture. He favored welding and was hired by Vesper to teach Community Education classes for welding sculpture in 2015. Since then, Greg has been teaching welding at art centers, folk schools and Community Education centers. He loves teaching and sharing his skills with others.
