SES Adventure Camp (grades 7-9)

Enrichment - Youth / Nature, Science & Outdoors -
Youth Summer 2024

Spend a week adventuring and exploring through inquiry with SES (School of Environmental Studies) teachers. Topics covered will vary, depending on student interest, but will include a mixture of outdoor and indoor activities that are both adventurous and inquiry-based. The type of camp activities offered may include canoeing, orienteering, biking, hiking, rocket building and launching, pipette torpedo creation, tie-dye, science “magic” tricks, plant identification, nature writing and Rube Goldberg machine building. The School of Environmental Studies is a District 196 magnet school for juniors and seniors that immerses its students in the study of environmental topics and issues. The SES Adventure camp is an opportunity for students in grades 7-9 to take part in the SES experience of learning an integrated curriculum through inquiry, hands-on learning with lots of time spent outdoors.
