Czech Kolaches

This egg-rich slightly sweet yeast dough is traditionally filled with fruit mixtures including apricots, prunes, cottage cheese or poppy seeds. They are round, square "tied packages" or filled turnovers. Make variations and taste samples. Take home an assortment of more than two dozen to eat, share or freeze. Bring large containers. Laurel Severson

Laurel Severson, a former home economist in commercial food service, was also a recipe tester and editing expert. She is a popular, long-time instructor. Students enjoy being actively involved in her classes.
