Parents of Children Ages Kindergarten Through Third Grade Please register for one class for your family (not per child) with an alternate choice for the lottery. Additional class registration will open after the lottery is completed. Are you the parent of a child in grades kindergarten through third grade who would like the education and support of an ECFE class? Parenting a school-aged child brings new joys and challenges. You may notice developmental changes in independence, social skills and responsibility. This class will explore shifting family dynamics as you welcome the school experience. Children under kindergarten age can attend with you and enjoy an early childhood experience. You may also attend without children and participate in the parent discussion only from 1:45-3:15 p.m. End time is flexible if you need to pick up children from school. District 196 COVID-19 Operational Plan: District 196 is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for each employee, student, parent and visitor to our buildings. Our primary focus continues to be the education of our students, while integrating health and safety responses into our existing pre-pandemic public health support. Face masks will be required indoors in all District 196 buildings for anyone age 2 and older, regardless of vaccination status, beginning Monday, August 30. The district plan uses the CDC’s transmission matrix to determine when face masks will be required or recommended based on the Dakota County seven-day case rate per 100,000 residents. Please note: Our early childhood staff will work with families to support our youngest learners in wearing a mask as they are able.
