  • Eagan Women of Note

    Eagan Women of Note is a community-based choir composed of a diverse group of women of all ages. Women, ages 18 and older, who enjoy singing are welcome to join. You do not need to live in Eagan and no audition is required. Rehearsals are Monday evenings from 6:30-8:30 pm, September to May, at Falcon Ridge Middle School in Apple Valley and Blackhawk Middle School in Eagan. The choir performs at various venues, such as community events and senior centers, and performs concerts in December and May.     How To Play Piano by Ear

    Learn one of music’s deepest mysteries: how to play songs without relying on music. A very practical presentation of music theory that includes predicting chord progressions, learning from recordings, and transposing-all expressed in everyday language. This is an ideal follow-up to the “Instant Piano” class and is open to anyone who has a basic understanding of chords on any instrument. Expand your musical horizons, free yourself from sheet-music dependence and be the life of the party! Prior experience with chords recommended. Fee includes the online book, online follow-up lessons, a recording of the class and an optional monthly question and answer session.

  • South of the River Community Band

    Now in its 30th year, the South of the River Community Band is a 60 to 65 member inter-generational band. Teens through older adults are welcome. No auditions are required. Rehearsals are Sunday afternoons, September to May, from 4:30-6pm at Black Hawk Middle School (BHMS), 1540 Deerwood Drive in Eagan. Band members enjoy playing and performing an assortment of music, including marches, Big Band, classical, popular, jazz and more. Performances are presented throughout the year, including summer concerts in parks.   • Valley Winds Community Band

    The Valley Winds is a new community band from Apple Valley serving the south metro. Their mission is to give adults an outlet for performing a wide variety of quality wind band literature with excellence and have fun doing it. Further, the Valley Winds provides an opportunity for individual musical expression and growth among the membership. The band practices Wednesday nights from 7:00-9:00 in the Falcon Ridge Middle School Band Room at 12900 Johnny Cake Ridge Road. Valley Winds will perform several indoor and outdoor concerts during the year.   • Velvet Tones

    The Velvet Tones, the Apple Valley-based senior community choir, will begin rehearsals on Thursday, September 7th at 3:30 PM at Grace Lutheran Church in Apple Valley. This non-auditioned choir is welcome to anyone 55 years or older who loves to sing and be part of a wonderful community. Interested members are invited to attend a rehearsal. Music will be provided. The Velvet Tones perform approximately twice a month throughout the year for audiences at festivals, senior living homes, veterans homes, schools and churches.
