Photography Level 1: Peter Wong
Have you wondered how star trails and the Milky Way are captured in photographs? Why waterfalls look silky? This is the photography class for you! Learn about your Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera and the various lenses. Understand how to use settings beyond “auto” and shoot quality photography. Discover how to capture beautiful portraits, family gatherings, children’s sporting events and more. Create special images that tell a story. Bring a DSLR camera and lens(es). Cameras without the ability to change from “Auto” mode to M, A (Av) or S (Tv) will not benefit from this class. Take advantage of Saturday outdoor camera shooting experience as part of the class.

Email received fall 2013: "I wanted you to know that I was impressed by my first experience with 196 Community Ed. I just completed Photo 1 and Photo 2 with Peter Wong. My expectations for the classes were that I would better understand basic photography, my experience was far greater. Through Peter's coaching and individual attention, I actually took some pictures that generated a "wow"! Peter spent a lot of time with us, and his suggestions for field trips, composition, and creative lighting left me with an appetite for further instruction. I'm hoping Peter will be producing more courses with 196.
